In the last months a lot of attention has been drawn on market compliance within the European Union.
The European market has one of the most restrictive regulations regarding product compliance in terms of dye content, pigments, printing contents and other chemical materials used in textile production.
In recent months EU customs have been particularly active in enforcing this regulation and as a result a number of importers have found major problems in its imports; even in some cases the goods have been stopped in customs with no way to be imported into EU market because of this non-compliance.
It is important to point out that the sole responsibility of product compliance is born by the importer. To mitigate this risk the importers must add some additional control on their imports making sure that their vendors and exporters are fully complaint with this regulation, something not always easy to control.
As a response to this situation, our company, as both importer into EU-member states and exporter from China is making every effort to make sure our goods fully comply with the latest EU regulations.
The additional control required in Spanish customs is called SOIVRE (Servicio Oficial de Inspección, Vigilancia y Regulación de las Exportaciones).
